Genesis Croix de Fer takes on South America

The Genesis Croix de Fer is an extremely popular bike – the one everyone’s eyes immediately settle on if they come in to our Friars Walk shop. Paul Benoy, Director of Cycleshack, has his eye on one, and Steve Ranger the other Director already has a Day One, the Croix de Fer’s partner bike.

The Croix de Fer  is often used as a touring bike, and this post from the Genesis Bikes website tells the tale of Laura Bingham and her partner travelling 7500km across South America..

Natural born adventurer, Laura Bingham (22) is taking on a South American adventure of epic proportions aboard her trusty Croix de Fer. As a social experiment, Laura and adventure partner Cho are traveling some 7500km across the continent without a penny between them to see first-hand the kindness of strangers. The journey will take them from Manta in Ecuador to Buenos Aires in Argentina and should take four or five months – which is handy as Laura is planning to get married in September!
